Tried to change fuel filter on 99 Pontiac Grand Am, 2.4L?

My boyfriend said what was under my car and what was in the Haynes manual were two different things. And that the fuel filter is different than the one thats in there. He bought it, I assume its the right one. He's refused to look into this. Has anyone had this problem? If not, how much would it be to have someone change the fuel filter at a shop? I know its not a difficult job.Tried to change fuel filter on 99 Pontiac Grand Am, 2.4L?

good luckTried to change fuel filter on 99 Pontiac Grand Am, 2.4L?
might be mounted on the firewall if you've got the four cyl. engine, not bad to change If it's not rusted up...no idea what a shop would charge but a good mechanic should have it done in about a half hour...and that's what they'll charge ya
The fuel filter under the car is the one that needs changed if you bought it at the parts store they should have given you the right part. It is under the car near the rear axle generally and it isn't that hard to change
