Try the fuel filter replacement first. The spring lock coupling tool should be available at the auto parts store. P-0171 is lean bank one, which could be a vacuum leak. go to the parts store and find the tool for fuel lines and A/C line removal tool..... the code could be due to a vacuum line leak somewhere or an exhaust leak before the oxygen sensor to even the intake manifold which i have also seen
I agree with Bartzan4 I have delt with this problem and it was the vac line on back of intake!
