How to change a fuel filter?

I have a mercedes vito van, 111CD, and am wondering if u need a special tool to take off the clips on the diesel fuel filter? Ive tried screwdrivers, but am afraid ill damage something. Help would be greatly appreciated!How to change a fuel filter?

If you don't know what you are doing best leave alone as if you break it you got to fix it plus you can cause an air lock in the fuel causing it to not start
yes you do, or you will damage the fuel line ends
yes and autozone has them for about 5 bucks, other than that it is pretty simple and straight forward.
Should be ok with a screw driver just be careful not to damage the fuel lines.
