Just open the hood and look at the top of the firewall and a little left, looks like half a coke can painted black with two fuel lines going in the top. Very easy to change (2 wrenches and a screwdriver), will take about 40 minutes if you don't know what you're doing, and will only cost $12-25 depending on if you have to buy the tools. How to change a fuel filter?
i follow the line from the fuel injector rail to the firewall,if its not there i go underneath and follow the line back till i see a small silver or black canister most of the non american cars use hose clamps or metal fittings,if you still dont see it, it is non serviceable and is in the tank changed when the pump is changed
It's in the backseat (the bottom part of the seat can be removed and this will expose to the top of the gas tank.)
Here's a link for 95-2005 Civics but it would give you some idea.

After you have located the fuel filter, if it is serviceable, and you are ready to change it. Locate the fuse which controls the fuel pump. Crank the engine, remove the fuel pump fuse and let the engine run. It will stop on its own. This relieves the pressure in the fuel lines.
passenger side on a L4 above the transmission on the fire wall. on a v6 it will be on the other side. to replace be careful and follow the book. is is not that tricky to do but make sure that you replace the washers when you remove the banjo fittings.
